What If It Turns Out To be So Beautiful?

As we close out 2014 and glimpses of our aspirations and desires for 2015 gain more clarity, I am reminded that even amongst the hope and optimism for the new year we are often gripped by fear.  Fear and trepidation about how and if – how will we realise our aspirations and if we will realise our aspirations.  Fear and trepidation about whether and how we will make those revenue targets.  Fear and trepidation about whether those particularly cherished and loyal clients will remain loyal in the 2015 so that at least we have some assured clientele.
But if I have learnt one things over the past few years as I have matured in age and emotions it is this – gather the courage to take risks for what if it turns out to be so beautiful?.  Pursue your aspirations for you are a gift to the world.  Offer the world that gift and the world will receive it wholeheartedly – but we need structure and package that gift in the manner that your target clientele would want to receive it.  Confused?  Here is what I mean.
I love to give quirky, charming gifts and I also love to package gifts beautifully.  Perhaps that’s because presentation matters to me, but it also has to do with the fact that in knowing the recipient of a gift, I want to ensure that they receive it in a manner that is befitting and expectant of their personality.  It’s that simple.
Likewise, when you package the gift that your business is to the world, package it skilfully and expertly.  Package your business vision thoughtfully.  Literally that translates into structuring all the various elements of operating a business in a manner that is responsive to the needs of your business vision and target client, with all the originality and quirkiness which that requires – from choosing premises, third party suppliers, materials, online and offline visibility features etc, etc.  In that way, there is some likelihood and or security that it would all turn out to be more beautiful.
For the Christians among us, as we approach Christmas we unearth that even the Christmas story is synonymous with hope and joy – even in the midst of fear.  Joseph and Mary were subject to Herod’s decree – and it took courage to take the risk to comply even though Mary was with Child and about to give birth. And in gathering the courage to take risks, holding on to The Promise that was made, the vision that was spoken through an angel, Mary, Joseph and Believers today, experienced the manifestation of hope.  When we also answer the call of our inner most desires to start, operate and grow a business, hope is also manifested.  Our work is to activate hope and pursue the dream.
Here’s to a 2015 blessed with courage, the courage to overcome our fears, the courage to pursue our dreams.  The courage to start, operate and grow that business more successfully.
